Miss Natalie and I are watching God of Wonders from the "Praise Baby" collection. If you have little ones they MUST have these!
I bought them six years ago when Carly was a baby and this is now the fifth baby who has watched them. There is just something about them that they find so soothing. The music that plays while they watch the video is adult praise music so I enjoy them too.
Right now Nora and Zoe are taking a nap and Jack went to the "train park" (Latty's grove) with Pa so that left me and Natalie alone. When she doesn't have the other kids here to entertain her she will sometimes get a little fussy and the minute I put the video in she became so quiet and content.
Whenever I see this happen, it reminds me of the verse in Psalms 46 that says, "be still and know that I am God." If you know me very well, you know that I love the quietness that comes with solitude. (Yes, that is why I watch four babies at the samea time, they are soooooooooo quiet! :) )
For the past nine years I have been driving a 120 mile round trip to work. People ask me why I do that when I could easily getting a nursing job in town. One of the reasons is because it is quiet and peaceful in my car. I don't even play the radio! I have found that my commute is a great time to commune with God. He said "be still" and "know" that I am God. He has made himself so real to me may times during my commute. He has shown me that He truly is a God of Wonders.
This past winter as I was driving along St. Rt. 24 I finally got a glimpse of the eagle that has a nest near Liberty Center. I was able to pull off of the road and watch him for awhile. After soaring above the earth for a while, he landed in "his" tree and just sat there. The sun was shining and it made his white head look like it was illuminated. It reminded me that as a follower of Jesus, I need to let the "Son" shine in me so that "He" is illuminated in this dark world.
The God of Wonders wants to speak to all of, that's all we have to do is "be still" for awhile.
