Sometimes an author wonders if all those hours of typing, editing, and retyping are really worth it.(especially when her eyes get blurry and her back aches!)
Then she gets a note like this: "I just had to send you a little note, I finally got around to reading your book "A Portrait of Dawn." I usually am not a reader, but oh my goodness, this is such a good book, I couldn't put it down. I read it in 2 days. Couldn't believe how from chapter to chapter how hooked I was on finding out about Beth's life and her Mom. It was so real, and how much faith Beth's mom had! Loved it! So can not wait to read your book "Dawn's New Day" once the book comes in.”
Thank you, Jamie, for making my day! :)
As I've said before, writing a book was not on my bucket list. If you would have told me five years ago that I was going to write, not just one book, but two, I would have laughed at you.
Then there were some transitions in my life and one day I sat down and just started to write. First it was short stories and devotionals. Writing those made me recognize how good God has been to me and I began to feel a need to write a story about how God can take our brokenness and turn it into joy and peace.
A "Portrait of Dawn" came so easily that I knew it was God who had planted it in my heart and it was Him who was helping me write it. My greatest desire has always been that God would take that story and now the sequel, "Dawn's New Day, A Love Story" and bring glory to Himself. The fact that it touches the hearts of people like Jamie helps me to see that God is doing that...and I am grateful. It is the only reward for my labors that I need.
On my blog you will find the website where my books can be purchased. Just click on the picture of the books and that will take you to Amazon. They can also be purchased at Barnes and Noble. If you enjoy inspirational fiction, I think you'll like both of them.
Blessings!
Brenda
