Good friends

I am blessed with good friends and don't know what I  would do without them.

As I get older, my relationship with my daughters has changed and even though they will always be my daughers, they have now become friends. I am grateful for their friendship.

I am  blessed with so many old friends  I met my oldest friend (ok Dolly, I know you are 10 months younger than me )when I was fourteen. She has lived hundreds of miles away since we were eighteen, but distance has not changed our friendship. We have been able to get together almost every year since she moved to Florida and when we do get together we just pick up where we left off the year before. She is the best.

I am glad we never get too old to make new freinds too! I recently went to a weekend writers conference with a brand new friend. What fun it was to get to know her!

A couple of weeks ago, I spent the day exploring antique shops in Allen, Michigan with two other old friends. My sister in law Cathy has been a great friend ever since she married my brother and Beth has been one of those friends who is always there. WE didn't buy any antiques but we sure had fun.

Last Sunday I went to church and the greeter was a good friend. Her hug felt so good! Church is a great place to find friends!

And speaking of good places to find friends........what did we ever do without facebook? Isn't it fun to find and catch up with old friends through technology that we don't even understand? I have lots of cousins (there were 49 of us on my dad's side of the family and about 25 of us on mom's side!) and facebook has put  some of  us in touch again. And just this morning I got a message on facebook from a great friend that I hadn't heard from in a very long time. (she hacked into her daughter's facebook page to send that note to me. you have to watch those preacher's wives, sometimes they do things like that!)

And of course there are my friends at work. They make going to work so much better.

But I cannot write a blog about friends without talking about the best friend of all. What would I have done all of these years without Jesus? From the time i was very small, I have know that He loved me more than anyone else. I think it is interesting that many of my friend don't know each other but they almost all know my friend, Jesus.

Sharing Jesus with friends is the best. And sharing Him with grandbabies is such an honor. I just rocked a little one to sleep and while she was drifting off, we sang "Jesus Loves Me" I hope she'll always know that Jesus loves her even more than Gramma does.
